Rafał Legiędź – Speaker interview
Rafał Legiędź works as a software engineer for Solidbrain. Being in the industry since 2007 he develops his passion for the software at every possible moment. He believes that being pragmatic in our field is very helpful and proves that by switching technologies he uses whenever there is a need or an opportunity to learn new concepts. Started with .NET back-end solutions, he quickly became a web guy and then he got his head around different kind of mobile technologies and VR/AR. Also a Microsoft MVP in Windows Development. As his passion evolved, he got obsessed with knowledge sharing and community activities. That resulted in co-founding a conference and a series of other actions like giving talks or conducting workshops.
Talk: Augmented Reality – The State of Play
Q. Tell us a bit about yourself. What are your hobbies and interests?
Main main interests are drums, endurance sports and video games.
Q. Why did you select this topic for your session at Voxxed Days Bucharest 2019?
Based on my experience after giving HoloLens talks for more than a year, I figured that the developer community still lacks basic knowledge about what’s going on in the AR world. The technology is here to use, so are the opportunities to chase. My aim is to reach as many developers as possible to make them realise the time is now and it’s them who needs to start thinking about potential applications and building that awareness is the very first step. Hence this talk.
Q. Who should attend your session?
Q. What are the key things attendees will take away from your session?
* You will learn about the current state of the AR world.
* You will have an overview of common mechanisms in AR.
* You will see where AR is headed.
* You will have a better understanding of what AR platform to use for particular purposes.
Q. Aside from speaking at Voxxed Days Bucharest, what are your other plans for this year?
I’ve some other conferences scheduled where I’m giving the very same talk and I’m preparing some new ones for the Fall season. I’m in the middle of preparing for my own conference too. And also debuting in my first triathlon ever in June. 🙂
