Q. Tell us a bit about yourself. What are your hobbies and interests?
I’m a software engineer interested in playing with new technology and use it to shape our future. I still prefer board games to computer games 🙂 . I like hiking the mountains, biking, travel and discover amazing places mostly to be away from the computers so I can think a bit deeper.
Q. Why did you select this topic for your session at Voxxed Days Cluj 2019?
I believe that nowadays there there are tons of study materials to learn from, however sharing personal experiences will have a greater impact and creates a context for a deeper understanding. The motivation for this talk is showing the basis of development of a reactive server and the basics of non-blocking I/O in java. Show the power of reactive programming and a distributed cloud based model.
Q. Who should attend your session?
People familiar with Java EE who would like to learn how they can use this technology in a cloud environment. Anyone managing a small product, who wants to deliver fast, but also be prepared for future scaling.
Q. What are the key things attendees will take away from your session?
A deeper understanding of the design of non-blocking systems, how they work under the hood and what is their performance impact. Few tips and tricks are revealed, which really boost the performance.Many fundamental principles and techniques immediately applicable to day by day job. Practical knowledge about technologies that would help your transition to the cloud.
Q. Aside from speaking at Voxxed Days Cluj, what does the year review look like for you?
I think this year was a good proportion between work, knowledge sharing, research and of course family. I attended https://events.google.com/io/ and https://www.bitsandpretzels.com/, where I met amazing people.
Q. What are your plans for the next year?
Take what life brings and really enjoy it!
