Software developers need proper tools to assemble scalable, open, and borderless business solutions. At ING, we have Touchpoint: an open technology platform that offers developers a wide range of products and tools, encouraging them to reuse instead of rebuild. To use Touchpoint is to benefit from
ready-made products that help us build according to ING standards and significantly speed up our time-to-market. It allows us to quickly develop innovative business solutions at a global scale, across ING and beyond. In this session, you will get a glimpse of how Touchpoint makes the lives of software developers easier.
During this live-coding session, you will see how easy it is for an ING developer to create a new application service. We will use a ready-made API SDK, deploy the app to Kubernetes using existing CI/CD pipeline templates, and register it on an API Marketplace. We will subscribe it as a producer to an
existing Kafka topic using a Stream Marketplace. Finally, we will provision Kubernetes-like resources using an Automation Framework to send email notifications.
